William Benjamin Gagum is a true South Carolinian and loves every part of the state. Originally from Conway S.C. he moved to Cayce/West Columbia S.C. area in 1994. Ben attended Brookland Cayce High School where he excelled in basketball earning all region and all state honors. After graduating high school in 2000, he attended Benedict College for a short while before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 2001. Ben has an Associates Degree in Business Management and has worked in the Security industry for over 20 years. Also, over the past 20 plus years, he has honed his BBQ skills over direct and indirect heat. Coming from a family of great cooks, being well verse in different cultural cuisines through travelling, it was only natural for him to combine his experiences with BBQ to create his signature style. Ben is the father of two, a 16 year old daughter and an 9 year old son whom he loves dearly. Also, he enjoys fishing, the outdoors, travelling, cooking and hanging with family/friends. He is an avid reader who enjoys history, spiritual, self help and business/financial books. 

We provide BBQ catering for weddings, graduations, baby showers, corporate events and more. We also provide box sandwiches/cookout catering, subcontracting services for other caterers and restaurants. We offer custom catering packages to fit any budget and a single Items menu. Also, we do pop ups about twice a month and personal chef services. All of our meat are smoked with Oak, Pecan or with a combination of both. Our sides are made with love, we use quality ingredients and ensure there are NO SHORTCUTS in our cooking process.

We started Trailblazer BBQ and Catering LLC to provide a one of a kind BBQ catering experience. We don't sell pork which sets us apart from most BBQ caterers, as it is the main BBQ protein in South Carolina. Stemming from our traditional S.C. BBQ roots, we bring a blend of BBQ styles from that created our own unique style.
